Tall, jagged peaks climbed upwards, towards the sky that stretched out in all directions, high above. In the valley below sat a huge creature, encased in a cloud of dust. A huge sheet of lava stretched out in front of it, bordered by tall cliffs. Waterfalls of molten lava oozed down the cliff face.
The creature was gargantuan, as tall as a 50 storey building. It had eyes as cold as ice, even though a fire burned within its belly. Long spikes jutted outwards from its jaw and long horns sprouted out of the back of its head. It had a long neck that was thick and tubular in shape that joined the head to its body. Huge wings sprouted from the creature’s shoulders, big and strong enough to carry the dragon’s enormous weight through the air. It stood on two colossal back legs and ended in a pair of long, clawed feet. A long, powerful tail was attached to the back of the creature, used for smashing and sweeping things out of the way. The underside of the dragon was covered in thick impenetrable scales. The dragon was a colossus.

I entered the hut. Straw surrounded me and the sea side view caught my eye at first sight. The island gave me a warm welcome feel; the friendly locals and the tropical paradise made me feel at home. I unpacked and made my way to the shore of the island. I had sunscreen all over me and I was wearing loose clothing that gave me a sense of relaxation. Colours surrounded me: the crystal clear blues of the ocean, the golden colours of the sand, greens of the bushes and palms trees - but most of all the traditional colored clothing of the locals. The scent of the foods around the island filled the air and my stomach involuntarily gave a rumble. The laughs and traditional music caught my ears attention. After such a beautiful day, I thought to myself, what a day in paradise.

Distorted and geometrically they sat. Connected cubes of well planned perfection. Pilled building upon building onto the base of concrete cubes. In other words, bricks. Glass panes reach over all angles. Reflecting patterns adding to the effect. Like mosaics on a super scale, slats of yellow wood mould their way around an intriguing feature. What this feature is is entirely up to your imagination. A man or maybe a cross, it comes across differently in each perspective. Through the centre, streams a spotlight of sun, making a point of focus for this masterpiece.

I ran free on the empty shore with nothing but but a bunch of balloons in my hands trying to escape and float up to party with the clouds. The waves calmly crashed onto the sand, bringing along driftwood and seaweed. As I danced and pranced and leaped high into the air,I didn’t care if people saw me because I was free to be myself. I could do what I wanted and when I wanted with none telling me no.

The cream colour is finished their castle construction
Amy, Alexandria and Jyothis (the cream coloured team) are first to finish their castle construction. It was a team effort and took a lot of cutting and glueing. Have a look at photos. Doesn't it look great?!

Castle Construction
This term our Inquiry has been about different types of architecture. Yesterday we split into groups and started creating castles out of card. We had to measure the pieces correctly and cut them out. We had to use problem solving skills for making sure they were the same size, battlements needed to be included and the placements of tabs.
