For maths homework students were told to make polyhedras or 3D shapes. They also had to say  how many angles, vertices and faces it has.

As well as some boxes we made using the instructions we were given at the art gallery.

Barefoot Sevens and TACS volleyball

    

In the Senior end, we have been busy with Barefoot 7's, Curtain Raiser for St.Johns College. Our Senior team has also participated in a TACS volleyball tournament. All students played very well in each of the sporting events.

Term Two

Welcome Back to St.Mary's, for another busy Term.  These are the strands we are currently learning about;

R.E;
We are currently learning about the Holy Spirit.  Thanks to Father Vince and Nat for coming into our class and explaining the importance of The Holy Spirit being the principal agent of the whole Church's mission.

Writing;
We are writing picture books and novels for the Book Awards.

Reading;
We are reading and understanding the differences between Sophisticated picture books and Picture books.  Mrs Hutchins is reading lots of picture books to us.

Maths;
We are working on the Algebra Strand and Place Value.

P.E
We have TACS events volleyball
Soccer Skills
Winter Sports


The Production is in Week 8

Hopefully Term Two will be a very productive learning term.

Year 8's 'One Day Makes a Difference' Camp Out at school

On Thursday night Year 8 students set up camp under the deck at school in shelters made from cardboard and tarpaulins. The night was to help us gain an understanding of how people without homes are forced to live. We were raising funds to support the Caritas Appeal for the Solomon Islands.
